Be at your bus stop 5 minutes early and
you will never miss the bus.
The Lynden Transportation Department is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transit of students to and from school. Our department manages a fleet of buses, coordinates routes and schedules, and oversees driver training and safety protocols. During the 2023-24 school year, we transported students more than 369,980 miles including field trips, athletic events and other activities.

All bus route information is located online at My Ride K-12 and will be available for lookup by the end of business on Friday August 23, 2024. Routes are currently a work in progress and will not be turned on for viewing until that date.
Once logged in, bus stop locations and schedules can be found in the Details tab for each student. Please be aware that our buses do not have GPS so the Bus Location tracker is not functional at this time.
Be advised that estimated pick up and drop off times are NOT set in stone for the year and may continue to adjust well into the fall. This is why it’s critical for students to be at their bus stop 5 minutes early to account for ongoing adjustments, traffic, weather and other daily variables.
An optional mobile app is available for iPhone and Android users. Our vendor has recently replaced its mobile app and now uses My Ride K-12. If you used the previous app, you will need to delete it and download My Ride K-12. Find the My Ride K-12 in your app store:
New users should follow these instructions on how to create an account and link your students for both the online portal and mobile app.
You will need your child’s Student ID number that always starts with Zero (you can obtain this from Skyward) and date of birth uses the MM/DD/YYYY format.

Kindergarten and Preschool students need to be MET at the bus stop by a parent/guardian, or another adult at pick-up and drop-off. If you would like to grant permission for your kindergarten student to get off the bus with an older sibling, please contact the Transportation office so we can update your student’s transportation profile with this information. Please communicate with your bus driver or the Transportation Office if someone other than you will be meeting your child.
Students should be waiting at their designated school bus stop 5 MINUTES prior to their estimated pick-up time. Bus drivers deal with many variables such as traffic and weather everyday that can affect their arrival times, and have been instructed not to wait for students who are not there. Please help us to be on time by being at your stop 5 minutes early. Parents are responsible for supervising students at bus stops.
Students are ONLY allowed to get on and off the bus at their assigned stop. Exceptions to this can be pre-arranged with a note from a parent delivered to the school office or by calling your student’s school to get a bus pass.
For most students, your morning pick up time for late start Wednesday is exactly 1 hour later than usual. This may not be the case for students that ride specialized buses or that receive out of district transportation services. The Transportation office will inform families when this is the case.
