ParentSquare

Lynden School District is now using ParentSquare to streamline school-to-home communications. ParentSquare is used for mass communications such as school newsletters, district information, and urgent alerts.  You can watch this ParentSquare 3 minute overview to learn more.

How Do I Sign Up?

You will receive an email inviting you to join ParentSquare. If you are a parent, and your contact information is in our district’s school database system (Skyward), you can use your email or phone number on file to set up your account with the invitation. It takes less than a minute! Be sure to use the contact information we have on file in order to properly sync your account.

If your link expires, you do not need to wait for a new link. Simply go to www.parentsquare.com and create an account using the email on file with the school district.

Set Your Preferences

Once you activate your account, you can set your preferences under “My Account”:

  • Choose HOW you want to receive communication- email, text, or app notification
  • Choose FREQUENCY- choose to receive messages as they come in or as a “daily digest” at 6:00pm daily
  • Choose LANGUAGE- ParentSquare automatically translates communications into the language of your choice. Your responses will also be automatically translated into the receiver’s language of choice.

Check your notification preferences on My Account Page. Are your notification preferences on?
Check your spam folder for emails from donotreply@parentsquare.com.
Add the domain ParentSquare.com or the email address donotreply@parentsquare.com to the safe senders list in your email client (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) You can google how to do this.
If using Gmail: Go to Settings. At the bottom of the pane, click Mail. In the left pan, select Mail > Accounts > Block or allow.
Under Blocked Senders, select the address or domain you want to unblock, and then select.

  • ParentSquare is a secure connection with our student information system (Skyward) to enable communication contact info. It pulls school-database information only and has a high level of security since this is how the company connects its product with school district databases for use. The data is not shared by ParentSquare.
Just like with any product we use that interfaces with Skyward (Office 365, Canvas, etc.), the company must comply with privacy for students per FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) as well as privacy for staff information.
ParentSquare has a complete Privacy Policy/Terms of Use available here:  https://www.parentsquare.com/privacy/.
