School Board

The Board empowers a professional staff of administrators led by a strong superintendent to carry out the district’s daily functions and the pursue its short and long range goals. The School Board has fundamental governance responsibilities that fall into four major areas:

  • Vision
  • Structure
  • Accountability
  • Advocacy

What is the Role of the School Board?
The Board provides overall governance of the Lynden School District. It fulfills the following functions:

  • Responsible governance
  • Creating conditions for student and staff success
  • High expectations for student learning
  • Accountability for student learning
  • Community Engagement


School Board Meetings

The Lynden School District Board of Directors will be attending the Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA) Annual Conference from Thursday, November 21st to Saturday, November 23rd at the Spokane Convention Center in Spokane, Washington. The board will hold a special meeting on Friday, November 22nd at 6:30pm at Clinkerdagger, 621 W Mallon Ave., Spokane, WA 99201. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss experiences at the WSSDA conference. No action will be taken by the board and no public comment will be included.

The regular meeting for November 21st has been cancelled.
