Instructional Materials Committee

The Lynden School District’s Instructional Materials Committee (IMC) is an advisory committee that reviews and recommends core instructional curriculum for use in our schools. The committee is composed of educators, administrators, parents/guardians, and community members ensuring that a variety of perspectives are represented throughout the review process. The IMC evaluates instructional materials using criteria established in Board Policy 2020 and 2020P with consideration given to alignment with state standards, educational quality, age appropriateness, accessibility, and the diverse needs of all learners. Committee recommendations are forwarded to the Superintendent and Board of Directors for consideration and approval.
