Senior Spotlight: Dance Team misses state competition

As Lynden Schools seniors saw their school year end prematurely, that included the loss of their final opportunity to participate in spring activities. This series recognizes the seniors across a variety of activities, with this post focusing on the dance team. 

The state competition for Dance Team was scheduled for late March and then moved to mid-May. But with the closure of schools statewide, there will be no state competition for the Lynden High School Dance Team and lone senior Karlee Camping. 

Dance Team advisor Samantha Grover says the Lynden team had already posted high scores in multiple routines and had qualified for the state competition. Grover says that even though Camping joined the team later than everyone else, she was a vital member of the group. 

“Karlee was our only senior,” Grover says, “and was an extremely hard worker, passionate, empathetic, kind, caring and an extremely valuable member of our team.”
