Using Chess to Teach

Fifth-grade students at Bernice Vossbeck are participating in the school’s inaugural chess tournament. BVE counselor Tanya Robinson organized the event for the students. Chess offers a way for students to practice logic, discipline and problem-solving skills they have learned through classroom guidance lessons delivered by the school’s counselors.
