LHS FFA Students Selling Plants Locally

Lynden High School FFA students will again have an outlet to sell plants after another year of hard work.

Last year, when the pandemic shut down school in March, the annual FFA Plant Sale was put in a tough position, says teacher Tammy Brandvold. Community partners The Green Barn and Northwood Market stepped up and sold the student-grown plants at their Lynden stores. This year the students will again not be able to hold a public sale directly through the school, instead partnering with Northwood Market to sell the plants.

“We are so grateful to be able to partner with Northwood Market for another year so that we can still give students in our horticulture class and FFA program the full experience they normally would,” Brandvold says. “By Northwood Market offering us a way to sell our products when they were complete this gives students an opportunity they wouldn’t have otherwise.”

The sale will likely happen in May.
