Lynden Basketball Teams Both Capture State Titles

Congratulations to the Lynden High School boys and girls basketball teams. Both teams won the 2A state tournament in Yakima over the weekend, the first time in school history that both teams have won the state title in the same year. The Lynden boys defeated Grandview 85-54 in a runaway title game followed by the girls defeating No. 1 Ellensburg 43-40 and snapping the Bulldogs’ 75-game win streak. The basketball teams were supported all season—and during the Yakima tournament—by the Lynden cheer squad and Lynden band.
