School Supplies & Start of School
View the school supplies for the 2026-2027 school year. Kids can bring their supplies to the Meet the Teacher event or on the first day of school.
For families who need assistance with school supplies, and additional community resources, the Lynden School District’s Family Community Services will host a school supply distribution event; click here for the event flyer and details.
PLANNING FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
- 2026-2027 School Calendar: The academic calendar for the upcoming year, includes waiver days, holiday breaks, etc. Select a version in your preferred language- English | Spanish.
- School Supply Distribution- Family Services: Families in need of assistance for school resources can attend the School Supply Distribution Day August 21 from 9:00am-1:00pm at the Main Street Campus located at 516 Main Street. See the green flyer below for additional resources and organizations who will be in attendance including Skagit Legal Aide, Sea Mar, Goodwill, Project Hope, etc.
- Skyward Opens & Assigned Teachers: Skyward should be available to view teacher assignments one to two days prior to the Meet the Teacher event. The exact timing is not yet known. This is when you will see your child’s teacher for the new school year.
- TK & KinderCamp- Students and families with new incoming Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students are invited to KinderCamp. The school will mail letters with your assigned session on either Wednesday, August 19 or Thursday, August 20 from 9:00am-10:30am. This is an opportunity for your child and you to attend sessions tailored to you. Kids will practice some of the things they will do at school and parents will hear tips and tricks for a successful new year.
- Meet the Teacher & School Supply Drop-Off: BVE will open to families to meet your new teachers, visit classrooms and drop-off school supplies on Friday, August 28 from 2:30-3:15pm
- First Day of School
+ Monday, August 31– 1st Day for Grades 1-5, it is a full day of school 8:55am-3:05pm
+ Thursday, September 3– 1st Day for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten, it is a half-day of school 8:55am-12:05pm (this is a full day of school for Grades 1-5)
- Bus Garage: If you plan to have your child take the bus next year, call and make the arrangements now to help the bus routes and pick-up/drop-off times get set. The bus garage is open throughout the summer and can be reached at 360.354.5469.
