Join the Lynden Schools Safety & Security Task Force

Lynden Schools seeks applicants to serve on its recently formed Safety & Security Task Force. This group will study best practices in school safety, review current programs and make prioritized recommendations to Superintendent David VanderYacht for the protection of students, staff and the community. Applicants with a background in public safety, law enforcement and security-related careers are encouraged to apply, but it is not a requirement. The district aims to create a group representative of parents, students, staff and community members.

The Task Force will be co-facilitated by Superintendent VanderYacht, Lynden parent and former law enforcement officer Clark Bourgault and Lynden parent and Lynden Police officer Tanner Holland. Meetings will be on Wednesdays from 6:30-8 p.m. on 10/11, 11/8, 12/6, 1/3, 2/7, 3/6 and 4/10.

Interested community members should submit applications by Oct. 2 via the below link. Applicants will be notified by Oct. 4 of their acceptance to serve on the Safety & Security Task Force.  For questions, contact the Superintendent’s Office by email at lps-superintendent@lynden.wednet.edu or phone at 360-354-4443, ext. 3414.
