The Lynden School District is now accepting referrals for the Highly Capable Program testing. Parents, staff and community members are encouraged to refer students who may benefit from advanced academic opportunities. Characteristics to consider when referring a student include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022\u00a0Exceptional problem-solving abilities<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022\u00a0Advanced vocabulary or verbal skills<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 A strong memory and quick grasp of new concepts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Unusual creativity or curiosity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Persistent interest in specific topics<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Advanced performance in specific academic areas<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To refer a student, please complete the online referral form. Hard copies of the referral form (available in English and Spanish) are also available at school offices. All referrals must be submitted by Feb. 21, 2025, to be considered for the spring assessment process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Testing will take place between Feb. 24 and March 21, 2025, at the referred student\u2019s school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
