Bringing home gold, silver and bronze medals from the National FFA Convention highlighted a successful showing for Lynden FFA students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following a first-place finish in Washington state in the spring, the Lynden FFA\u2019s Agricultural Communications team earned a trip to this fall\u2019s National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. The group of Audrey Ward, Sammy Escobar, Bella Duffey and Priya Dhaliwal earned 12th<\/sup> nationally and landed individual accolades along the way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The contest included writing a 15-page communications portfolio and presenting on the portfolio for 15 minutes. The students then took a 50-question test on editing and communications. From there, the students listened to a 20-minute mock press conference and wrote a press release and letter to the editor about the content. They had to build a web page and edit a short video. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Along with the top-12 national placement as a team, Dhaliwal earned the top test score in the contest, awarding her a gold medal placing. Ward and Duffey both earned silver medals and Escobar a bronze. The team was coached by Julie Milstead and John Grubbs. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
