Over the past two academic years, Lynden High School Social Studies teachers, along with Principal Ian Freeman, have been engaged in selecting new curricular resources for use beginning this Fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team reviewed and piloted materials from four different publishers and have selected <strong>Teachers\u2019 Curriculum Institute (TCI)<\/strong> as their top choice. Here are the recommended Social Studies titles by grade level:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Grade 9<\/strong>: <em>Geography Alive! Regions and People<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Grade 10<\/strong>: <em>History Alive! World Connections<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Grade 11<\/strong>: <em>History Alive! Pursuing American Ideals<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Grade 12<\/strong>: <em>Government Alive! Power, Politics, and You<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We value your feedback on the new resources! Materials for all four texts will be available for community review <strong><em>May 5-9 in the Teaching and Learning space at the district office, located at 516 Main Street.
