Learning About Whatcom Farming

Third-grade students from throughout Lynden Schools, including Lynden Academy, participated in a recent Whatcom Family Farmers Education Committee experience. The event at the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds taught students where their food comes from and invited them to meet the farmers who grow it through hands-on activities. The experience featured Whatcom County’s top food crops, including raspberries, dairy and potatoes, while highlighting technology, wildlife and conservation.
