Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

In the 2018-2019 school year over 200 staff, parents and community members were trained in Youth Mental Health First Aid.  The Lynden School District is committed to meeting the mental health needs of its students and will be continuing to offer this FREE training to staff, parents, and community members.

This 8 hour training is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis.

The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.

See the links below to register for one of the upcoming sessions. Space is limited and pre-registration is required!
