Fisher Elementary recently completed a successful food drive. The annual event features fifth-grade students serving as leaders to advertise and collect the donations, all to support the Lynden Project Hope Food Bank.
Due to the overwhelming donations of food and care items from the Fisher community, the students brought in roughly 6,900 items weighing 3,250 pounds. “It was incredible to see the magnitude of giving hearts,” says Don Kok, Project Hope executive director. “This is amazing.” With the food bank 25% busier than last year, Kok says the help of Fisher is timely and important in supporting the Lynden community.
