The annual Fisher Elementary food drive won’t be slowed down by a pandemic, kicking off Feb. 1 and running through Feb. 12.
Tausha Caldarella, school counselor, says that each class will participate in the food drive, with students bringing in non-perishable food for donation to the local Project Hope food bank that supports families in the community. The Fisher class with the most food items brought by the end of the two-week drive earns a pizza lunch and the grade with the most items receives an extra recess.
“Students at Fisher get excited and look forward to the annual food drive,” Caldarella says. “Their enthusiasm, care and support for our community always shines through with every piece of food they bring in with smiles.”
Caldarella encourages the Fisher students to be the “extra caring hands our community needs.”
