Two Vacancies On School Board
Posted on 05/16/2022

The Lynden School District has two Board Directors resigning their Board positions effective Friday, May 13, because of family moves.

Board president Brian Johnson and his family are moving to the Sumas area. Brian has served on the Board since January 2013.

Board director Kelly Kettles and her family are moving to South Carolina. Kelly has served on the Board since April 2017.

School Board policy requires a school director to remain a resident of the school district. When the residency of a director changes to a place outside the school district, the term of their service ends.

The Lynden School District is grateful for the time, energy and passion Brian and Kelly have offered the school district community. Board director roles encompass a tremendous amount of time serving on board committees and community committees to support the successful operations of the school system. Their commitment to children and families is greatly appreciated.

A process to fill the vacant board positions will begin immediately. Interested individuals should contact the superintendent for an application.

The Lynden School Board is now seeking candidates to fill two (2) vacancies on the school board. Candidates should be interested in serving the community by working collaboratively in the continuous improvement efforts of the board and district staff.

Candidates must be registered voters and reside in the Lynden School District boundaries.

Interested individuals should contact the Superintendent for an application:
