Washington State Assessments
‚Äč

The Washington Comprehensive Assessment Program (WCAP) refers to the statewide, mandatory testing program which measures student progress toward meeting the state learning standards. Measuring the progress and proficiency of our students statewide is important because it helps ensure all public school students, no matter where they go to school, receive a quality education that strives to prepare them to be College and Career Ready citizens when they graduate from high school. Washington state students are regularly tested by the state to assess their progress as they move through elementary and middle school. In high school, students must pass specific assessments in order to be eligible to graduate and for federal accountability. Follow the “Graduation Toolkit” tab to view specific requirements for our current high school students by graduation year.
